Grief & Anticipatory Grief Support
When life changes suddenly, you shouldn't have to figure out every conversation at once.
A serious diagnosis can divide life into before and after in a matter of minutes.
Suddenly there may be medical appointments, decisions, worried family members, unanswered questions and conversations nobody expected to be having yet. Meanwhile, the person living with the diagnosis is still a whole person—with relationships, routines, fears, humor, hopes and things they still want to experience.
Sacred Horizons provides non-medical support for individuals and families navigating serious illness, changing health circumstances and end of life.
Our conversations may focus on understanding what matters most right now, helping loved ones communicate, identifying questions to bring to healthcare professionals, exploring wishes and comfort preferences, talking about fears or uncertainty, making room for unfinished conversations, preserving memories and helping families remain connected to the life that is still happening alongside the diagnosis.
Support can evolve as circumstances change.
This may be a good fit if:
You or someone you love has recently received a serious or life-changing diagnosis.
Everyone is overwhelmed and you're unsure what needs to be discussed first.
The person with the diagnosis and their loved ones seem to be processing things differently.
There are conversations someone wants to have but doesn't know how to begin.
You want help discussing wishes before circumstances become more urgent.
Your family needs support alongside hospice, palliative care or another medical team.
You want someone who can comfortably sit with difficult subjects without making every conversation about illness or dying.
You simply need another steady person in the room.
Sacred Horizons does not replace medical care, hospice, therapy or legal guidance. My role is to support the person and family around those systems—and help make room for the conversations that medicine doesn't always have time to hold.
